If patients have recently arrived from overseas and have a fever, cough, sore throat, trouble breathing or any acute respiratory illness, we ask that they:
- Immediately inform reception about their symptoms and recent travel
- Ask for a face mask to cover their nose and mouth and sit away from other people while they wait
- Cover their nose and mouth with a tissue when coughing or sneezing, or cough into their elbow
- Immediately throw tissues away in a bin and then wash their hands with soap and water or use alcohol based hand gel
- Also tell the doctor or nurse they see about their symptoms and that they have been overseas
