While planning continues for a major theatre re-development which will achieve a co-located and expanded theatre/gastro/sterilisation suite, North Eastern Community Hospital will temporarily fit out a second gastro room in the existing gastro unit.
The additional room will be fitted out with a brand new set of Olympus equipment, and the unit will have upgraded air conditioning, new flooring, and upgraded window coverings.
North Eastern also plans to grow its workforce accordingly to ensure more experienced clinicians and support staff are available as the service grows.
