It was a case of double trouble times two at North Eastern Community Hospital recently, with sisters Monique and Melanie both giving birth to fraternal twins just 10 days apart.
All four babies were delivered by NECH Visiting Obstetrician Dr Neil Tamlin and the mums were both under the care of our wonderful midwife Mim Luppino.
Monique, husband Ben Fuss and three-year-old big brother Jonathan welcomed babies Oliver and Nicola on 15 March. Monique says while it was a surprise finding out she was expecting twins, she simply couldn’t believe it when her sister told her she had twins on the way, too.
Melanie, husband Ryan Waller and two-year-old big brother Charlie welcomed babies Lily and Henry on 25 March. Melanie says it was amazing having the support and understanding of her sister through the pregnancy.
