There has been a project running in the background for some time about refreshing our organisational values, from the current 7 statements to 5 words that best represent our current and future aspirations.
All our staff were invited to participate, with the support of the Board of Directors, which is remarkable enough to be mentioned as not many organisations would make this bold strategic move: “New values for the staff, by the staff.”
A selection of residents and patients were surveyed who strongly agreed with the new definition of our values, which demonstrates that these values were already displayed by staff.
The visual representation shown here of our new 5 values has been deliberately structured this way and the single most popular – and not surprising – value was “care” or “caring”. In view of the industry we are in and what we do each day this should be at the forefront. We have designed the values to intersect the word CARE as this value is at the very heart of what we do each day at NECH.
