The accommodation costs above are the maximum daily amounts this aged care home charges. Everyone who moves into an aged care home agrees a room price before moving in.
To find out how much you may be asked to contribute, use the fee estimator and check if you need to complete a means assessment. The means assessment determines if you will have to pay the agreed room price or if the Australian Government will pay for part or all of your accommodation costs Services Australia will advise you if you are required to make an accommodation payment.
In addition to the accommodation payment, you will be asked to pay a basic daily fee and may be asked to pay a means tested care fee. The fee estimator will work out how much this might be based on your financial situation. To learn more about the different types of accommodation costs and fees and how they are calculated, go to the Aged care home costs and fees page.
